Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

On Sunday 8th November at 11:00 Byker Hall held a Remembrance Service in honour of the members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty.

Michael Brooke, a retired veteran who holds a special place in his heart for Byker Hall held the service within our car park.

Our staff came out to the car park and our residents sat within the receptions, on our decking and by their windows to show their respect to those who lost their lives.

So many memories were shared through-out the day.

May, a resident at Byker Hall shared that when her father was serving in Belgium he met Vera Lynn and got a signed postcard from her.

Nevin, a Byker Hall resident who also served placed the donated poppy cross as part of the service.

During the week our residents creatively designed images on to stones within their Arts n Crafts activities and they were part of a Remembrance garden which were created.

A special day enjoyed by all.

Lest We Forget.
